At The Hornsmill in Chester, creating a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere was central to the venue’s design vision. To achieve this, JackEvie supplied two distinct flooring solutions that harmoniously blend style and functionality, transforming the pub into a warm, characterful space.

For the dining area, Carver Street from the Branston Collection was selected. This engineered herringbone flooring, crafted from rustic-grade oak, brings a sense of elegance and depth with its golden oak hues and brushed finish. Measuring 280mm long and 70mm wide, the 15mm planks feature a micro-bevelled edge that enhances the traditional parquet aesthetic, complementing the pub’s classic yet contemporary decor. The durable 5mm wear layer and hardened UV oil finish ensure the floor withstands the demands of a busy hospitality environment while maintaining its rich, sophisticated appearance.

In other areas of the pub, Anstey Lane from the Alton Collection was chosen to add a complementary dimension to the design. This engineered plank floor, crafted from rustic-grade oak, showcases its natural beauty through warm, golden tones and a brushed, worn, and dented surface treatment. With planks measuring 189mm wide, the micro-bevelled edges and textured finish highlight the rustic charm, seamlessly tying into the pub’s inviting and relaxed ambiance.

The combination of Carver Street’s herringbone elegance and Anstey Lane’s timeless plank design creates a cohesive yet varied aesthetic throughout the pub. The thoughtful interplay of patterns and textures distinguishes functional zones while maintaining an overall sense of warmth and harmony.
